You took a deep breath once and couldn’t let it go. You held for so long you forgot to breathe.
Things came and went. Days grew short and long. And it wouldn’t release.
The tension in your body sat so relentlessly and unforgivingly that it gave rise to sensations you couldn’t recognize.
People saw you without truly seeing you. They passed by you, not noticing what you so desperately are missing.
You took a deep breath once, and for years it stayed within, contained in a prison so thin you could see through it but somehow never cross.
The walls surrounded you — inhaling you into an abyss that called for its own rules.
Till one day the breath called and in your torment didn’t even recognize who and what had befallen your predicament.
Awaiting an exhale all of these days. It threw a tantrum and kicked you off the ledge. Not giving you permission or an edge. To speak or have a say.
It took over and released. It let go so painfully you wished not to breathe any more. Yet breathing, you were.
There rests the will that thought it knew to be but never could, for you to remember that every breath needs an exhale no deeper than an inhale.
For in the mist of a world desperate for a reprieve, remember to give back as deeply as you take in, for neither is less of a prison or an unforgiving decision.
Until the next ❤️ beat ~.~.~
