We get so involved in the stories we live in that we rarely look to notice if it’s our story.
~ Parents’ needs & wants take us for a stroll.
~ Kids and their journeys lock us in.
~ Bosses, colleagues, and others surround us with hierarchies of responsibilities & deliverables.
In each, the story always bullies you to make you feel it’s yours, but it never is.
In its confines, you suffer and agonize over parameters that feel enforced but in reality aren’t.
In its sad attempt, you keep craving to exit what you were never been in, mostly because your mind loves finding an exit.
Take a step back, look at the stories narrate them without you being in them.
Surrender to them, don’t resist or defend their narratives, but witness them as if you are watching a child throw a tantrum.
Await the emotions to regulate in the drama unfolding, for it’s simply a story being told, and the tension will resolve the less you fight it.
Do this, and suddenly you will realize the realities they impose were never your story.
In your story, you feel in control.
In your story, you won’t suffer.
In your story, even the story won’t matter.
Find your story.
Until the next ❤️ beat ~.~.~
