Where does it come from? Referring to ourselves in conversations.
Referencing specific questions or answers we have given — a phenomenon that seems prevalent across seniorities and various structures.
One which I have even caught myself exhibiting a couple of times.
Is it a good thing? Is it a bad thing? I am not sure.
But what I can tell you about it is that it feels like a mechanism of self-reaffirming or more so validation of worth.
And more so an indication of the relationship we have built with ourselves on the heels of systems that reward us.
Did you hear me say what I said…
Did you notice what a difference it made?
Did I feel better about it?
I said this… it created that… and for the better or worse the Ego feels fulfilled that it accomplished something.
